I received the letter from your department informing me that I have been approved for promotion to the position of sales manager starting next week. I am so happy to receive such news and grateful that the time and effort I have spent in the company have been rewarded.
I know that I will be receiving an orientation about my job description next week but I would like to inquire about some of the details of my job. My wife is sick at the moment and needs to be confined in the hospital for two weeks to recover. I am taking care of our two children which includes sending them to school everyday. Thus, I would like to inquire if I will be expected to go on travel soon. I hope to find out as soon as possible so that I can make the necessary arrangements to be able to fulfill my duties.
