Dear Austin Parker,

I was asked the other day who had my support in the upcoming race for Governor. Without any hesitation, I told the man asking that my vote went to Rosa Hernandez.

Mrs. Hernandez was born and raised in Texas. She has made her life here and raised her own family here. In 1999, she was elected Mayor of Browning. In 2001, she was elected to Congress. Her political experience continued on until the people spoke, asking Mrs. Hernandez to take on the monumental task of running for Governor.

She deserves every vote, too. Never have I met anyone who serves her community so tirelessly. Holidays find her not at home but serving on a soup kitchen line with her family. She holds a place on the Children’s Cancer Research Board and is very active in raising awareness about juvenile cancer.

I had the opportunity to get to know Mrs. Hernandez during a Fun Run held to raise money for diabetes research. As she stood beside me at the starting line, I almost did not recognize her even though I had seen her many times on the front page of the newspaper. She leaned over to me and conspiratorially whispered, “I am so nervous! I have never run in one of these before. I hope I don’t trip in fall in front of a camera.” Needless to say, she did not trip in fall. She ran the benefit marathon with the same grace I believe she will run our state.

On October 4th, I strongly encourage you to vote for Rosa Hernandez. Her strength will make the Lone Star State a force to be reckoned with.

Sincerely,

Beriszl
