I am in complete disagreement with your action of sending my student, Jules Mayer, to detention last Monday. I was about to discipline Jules in the way recommended by the school’s guidance counselor when you interrupted us and sent him to detention. I felt that it was an intrusion of my authority as a teacher when you just acted without consulting me first. It would be helpful if we could meet and discuss matters regarding discipline and my classroom authority so that we will know the boundaries of our responsibilities.
