Dear Joseph Hall,

I apologize for the miscommunication about who had to pay for Austin’s birthday dinner. I thought that we had to share it equally, but I think you must have got an impression that the dinner was my treat. I feel terrible about this kind of miscommunication. I assure you that in the future I’ll make all the communication beforehand and in advance. Anyway, I feel delighted that we can be together; as it is we don’t get to talk to each other too much. I am happy that our closeness can be kept sustained, and not be marred by miscommunication like these.

Sincerely,
Maria smith
