I have just returned from vacation to find that I have been awarded the Civic Pride Award. I am at a loss for words to describe how I feel, and can only say how honored I am to receive it. It is somewhat of a family tradition to have a pride in the neighborhood, and I remember how proud I was when my father won the same award thirty years ago. When I consider all of the past winners of the award I am humbled to think that I have been considered to be in the same league as them.
I am even more committed to ensuring that this neighborhood is the center of the city and accept the award on behalf of the whole neighborhood.
