Dear Mary Johnson Gray,
I have come upon the information that the school is requiring each student to attend a seminar of some sort which would require a payment of $100 from each student. I strongly am opposed to this decision for several reasons.
First, this seminar is very sudden and the notice was only given to the children 3 days before the supposed seminar. This could cause a lot of problems in our schedules since you have scheduled the seminar to be on a weekend.
Second, this seminar is too costly for something which would only be conducted in 3 hours or so. Also, we parents were not informed of what this seminar would be for. Even the children do not have any idea what this seminar is about. I refuse to spend that amount of money for something I know nothing about.
I know that other parents of students also hold the same opinion as me and I trust that you would take the necessary steps to address this issue immediately.
